Grown Here.
Poured Here.
Set high on a hill in Los Alamos, Skyview sits in the heart of Santa Barbara wine country. And just below the hotel, tucked into the hillside, 2.5 acres of vines make Skyview more than a place to stay — they make it a working vineyard.
When Nomada took over the property, the Pinot Noir vines came with it. Rather than let the vineyard become part of the scenery, we saw an opportunity to continue its story and create an estate wine distinctly tied to this place.
From the Vineyard
In 2018, we partnered with local winemakers Mikey and Gina Giugni, the duo behind Scar of the Sea and Lady of the Sunshine, to turn Skyview's estate-grown Pinot Noir into rosé.
What began as a way to preserve and celebrate the vineyard has become an ongoing collaboration, with each vintage offering a new expression of the site.
SKYVIEW ROSÉ
Made from Pinot Noir grown just steps from the hotel, Skyview Rosé is our signature estate wine and an annual marker of another season in the vineyard.
For the 2025 vintage, the grapes were picked to preserve their natural acidity, then foot-tread and given a brief soak on the skins before being pressed whole bunch. The juice fermented with native yeast in old French oak barrels and aged on the lees for eight months.
Crisp and juicy, the finished wine tastes like summertime strawberries, with notes of pink lemonade and crushed flower petals.
SKYVIEW ALIGOTÉ
A few years into our collaboration, curiosity got the better of us.
In 2020, a few hundred vines were grafted over to Aligoté, an often-overlooked white grape with roots in Burgundy and a reputation for bright, energetic wines. The experiment gave the vineyard a new expression and, in 2025, led to the release of our first-ever Skyview Aligoté.
Bright, zippy, and layered, the wine brings together citrus, fresh-cut melon, and soft floral notes with subtle texture from extended lees aging and neutral oak.
A small release from a small section of the vineyard, Skyview Aligoté is a reflection of what we love most about this project: curiosity, collaboration, and seeing where the vineyard takes us next.
a taste of Skyview
Today, Skyview Rosé and Aligoté are poured exclusively across Nomada hotels and restaurants. But there's something particularly special about drinking a glass here, with the vines it came from just down the hill.
Pull up a seat at Norman, find a spot by the pool, and taste Skyview for yourself.
Meet the Makers
As the winemakers behind Scar of the Sea, Lady of the Sunshine, and our own Skyview Rosé, we know Mikey and Gina Giugni have good taste. In our Localist Guide series, they spill their favorite spots to eat, drink, and explore — perfect for anyone looking to sip and savor like a local.
